On Thursday, August 13th, Cox Bros. BBQ hosted their 10th annual Pig Out for Parkinson's event with Meadowlark. Pig Out looked a little different this year with social distancing practices in place, but that didn't make it any less of a success. Between the lunch and dinner buffet, and generous donations from guests and sponsors, Cox Bros. and Meadowlark raised over $5,000 for the Parkinson's fund!
In the face of a global pandemic, Pig Out for Parkinson's, which is normally held in April, was postponed until the teams could come up with a plan to safely serve our guests. The Cox Bros. BBQ Team was determined to host the event because of their dedication to supporting the community. Now, more than ever, the Cox Bros. team believes in the importance of giving back. The success of this event speaks to the dedication of Manhattan and the surrounding area to helping our neighbors. Even former KSU Head Football Coach Bill Snyder stopped by to show his support!
With Pig Out in the books, Cox Bros BBQ is looking forward to the fall, with 2 more fundraising events already planned. Be sure to mark your calendar for September 24th, when we'll be hosting our annual BBQ Festival to support the Boys and Girls Club of Manhattan. This event which is usually held in the spring, will feature a whole hog roast as well as live music from Jimmy Lewin and the Kingtones! We'll see you there!
